Haxby and Wigginton Scarecrow Festival 2008

Stuck for somewhere to go and something to do during May Day Bank Holiday?

An answer may lie very close to home!!

In 2007 Haxby and Wigginton Methodist Church held a very successful Scarecrow Festival. During the course of two days over 1,000 people took part with more than £1500 raised for charity. We had around 90 different scarecrows, which villagers had made, and three different trails to follow

Photos of last year’s scarecrows can be seen on the Flickr photo sharing website: http://www.flickr.com:80/photos/20946876@N00/sets/

This year we are raising funds for Haxby & Wigginton Youth & Community Centre and Christian Aid.

This year the event will be held on:

Saturday May 3rd from 10-30 am to 6-30 pm

Sunday May 4th from 1-30 pm to 6-00 pm

Monday May 5th from 10-30 am to 6-30 pm

Trails, cost £1 per trail, will be available to purchase until 4-30 pm on each of these days at Haxby and Wigginton Methodist Church. There will be refreshments and light lunches served in the Methodist Church Hall and there will be children’s activities taking place throughout the day
